The Scheme:
The King Abdullah Financial District is designed as a state of the art and fully self-contained centre for doing business and facilitating investment and enterprise in the Kingdom. The scheme is a large mixed use development of offices, hotels, conference centre, shops and recreational facilities with easy access to the airport.
Our Role:
We were responsible for the design of all the fire protection systems associated with two tower blocks of over twenty storeys each including; concept design, detailed design, full hydraulic calculations, answering all associated technical queries and representing our client “WSP Group” as a named specialist sub-consultant
Challenges and Collaboration:
Our biggest challenge was the size of the scheme and ensuring close co-ordination of the designs as part of the overall project team and to complete each aspect of theprogramme to the Client’s satisfaction.
