The Scheme:
The scheme was the new world headquarters for Glaxo Smith Kline and known as GSK House. The building was completed in 2002 and opened by the then Prime Minister Tony Blair.
Our Role:
The role consisted of the responsibility for the design of the fire protection systems across this development.
The company provided, in the first instance, a concept design and developed this to a fully detailed design of the sprinkler system carefully co-ordinated with architectural detailing and building services systems. In addition the company managed the technical aspects and provided technical supervision of the installation works.
Challenges & Collaboration:
The challenges involved with this scheme were the co-ordination of the design with other aspects of the project team to satisfy the clientβs Architect, value engineering the systems and ensuring the correct interfaces were provided between the various systems.
